Hello and welcome to the Rails Decal! We are super excited to have you and look forward to hearing all of your fantastic ideas :D Below are the details of how this course will be run, what we expect of you, and where you can find some useful resources.

Initial Todos:

• [ ] Get an instructor’s account on the course website: https://your.rails.world
• [ ] Join the course slack, become an admin, and join the #staff channel
• [ ] Choose a time and location for office hours (feel free to pair up with someone else), add it to the course calendar and update it on the website. Try your best to hold OH for at least 1 hour a week. If you’re holding it jointly, it’d be great if you could have it be 1.5 or 2 hours long.
• [ ] Fill out the staff when2meet to help find a time for planning meetings

Weekly Structure

Every week’s curriculum will have a point person. This person is in charge of creating the curriculum outline for the week, taking on or delegating the task of creating slides, labs, and other resources, as well as running the week’s planning meeting. Ideally, every TA will get this opportunity at least once schedule-permitting.

Curriculum planning meetings will be done a week before the lecture and they’ll led by the point person for the corresponding week. The main goal is to quickly review any resources for the current week and discuss plans for the next week.

Office Hours

• Host office hours at least once a week for 1 hour. (If you hold it jointly with someone else, try your best to do at least 1.5-2 hours!)
• Familiarize yourself and ask questions with the homework/project before hand so that you can be as helpful as possible
